Oxford is centrally located in England and is easily accessible from many parts of the country. We recommend public transport as car parking is difficult, and certain roads in central Oxford are closed to private cars. Oxford is served by many coaches, buses, and trains.

Train

1) Adult return: lowest fare ('supersaver' and other advance bought tickets).
2) Adult return: ordinary fare (bought on the day of travel), second class.

Note that some services are direct; some are not and you may have to change.

The Coach station in Oxford is centrally located at Gloucester Green (next to the market square) which is about 10 mins walk from Congress venues. For buses from London the stop before the central bus station is called Queen's Lane and is almost directly outside the main entrance to the Examination Schools building.

Example: to arrive at about 8:45 am at the bus stop nearest to the Examination Schools you will need to take the 7:00 am bus from Victoria Coach Station. (Other pick-up points at Marble Arch, Gloucester Place, Hillingdon Station).

There is a new low-cost coach service serving the London-Oxford route, with prices in the region of £1-£5.You have to book in advance by the on-line facility. This link will take you to the time-table of the site from where you can navigate to booking. www.mega-bus.com

Oxford city centre is often congested, and private cars are barred from some central streets. Parking is very limited. We recommend you use the Park-&-Ride scheme.

PARKING
Four park and ride facilities, linking out of town car parks with City Centre with frequent buses. 60 pence for 24 hours but not secure for overnight parking.
